Dr. Heyne is passionate about promoting mental health and wellness in the community and among medical professionals. He is a dynamic, engaging speaker with experience presenting to a wide range of audiences from high school and pre-med students to doctors and academics. Past speaking engagements have included keynote addresses at the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, Grand Rounds presentations at multiple academic institutions, and regular audio contributions to Oakstone Publishing, a Continuing Medical Education provider for physicians.

He is particularly interested in educating the community, students, teachers, parents, and public servants about mental health issues affecting children and adolescents, including but not limited to ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. He also enjoys fostering an interest in medicine among younger students, presenting medicine, and psychiatry in particular, as a worthy and achievable profession. His talks are lively and accessible, incorporating humor, stories, and analogies to teach complex medical issues.
